EXPOSITION "LABOR FUTURO"

A way to familiar, social and labour reinsertion of the young interns of our centres.

A reinsertion which has to be integral and which aims are based on the need to create new prescriptions of work, innovative, original and effective ones. The mentioned need has lead the professionals who work in the educative programmes of the ADIS Meridianos, and especially in the reformation centres of the Andalusian Ministry of Justice, to generate a process ambitioned to educate, in a most complex and functional way, the young people that are located in these centres.

VOLUNTEERS

Voluntariness can only exist if it has effects on others and if it has a collective, general and public interest. Voluntariness is an instrument to reply to needs, problems and social interests.

During the celebration of the Mediterranean Games in Almería 2005, the volunteers gave all their strength, work and joint compromise, in a disinterested, responsible and free way and without any hope of retribution or recompense, for motives inspired by principles of participation, solidarity and altruism, to let our collective dream come true. With them, Almería got voluntary.

INNER REFLECTION (Photograph workshop)

Meridianos, the association of development and social integration, develops its work with young people in social, educative and juristic difficulties; normally these difficulties are already present in their environment of origin.

The Centre of Minor Offenders, CMO, the Windmill, former called Jesus Redentor, is a formation centre of Almería which depends on the Andalusian Ministry of Justice. In this centre, not only scholastic programmes but also programmes of integral education are developed. Thanks to the Department of Youth Reforms, and in conjunction with the project of intervention which is accomplished by Meridianos in each of their centres, the young people are prepared for their integration in the complex world in which we live.

These children and young people are the nucleus and fundament of the tasks of the educators and the different teams of the centre, from which they bring values, affection, rules of behaviour and an adequate understanding of the world and various activities to the young people.

Additionally to the schooling and the usual leisure activities, the educators show a personalized, continuous and close attention to every kid in permanent interaction. The young people who arrive at Jesus Redentor have an enormous need of being heard, of receiving and giving affection; the work of the educator is to be always there, and how they themselves say "it is very hard, but it is also very gratifying".
