First European Conference on Compliance Programmes with Legal Measures for Minors

Submission of communications to the First European Conference on Compliance Programmes with Legal Measures for Minors (CEMEJ)

Submission format

The proposed communications should meet the following characteristics:

a) Task areas:

1. Legal: the coordination of the different legal frameworks (regional, national, European and international)

2. Psycho-pedagogical intervention: the value of the proper intervention. Information which reflects the slow progress in learning and understanding basic socialisation behaviours.

3. Social and family context: importance of immediate intervention in this type of social work, the risks implied by delays in seeking resources, and critical moments in terms of intervention in social and family issues.

4. Technical innovation: pre-employment experience; the importance of immediate attention mechanisms (after having applied measures). Premium attention to new juvenile offender profiles (higher social class, involvement of the family in the youths' progress), collaborative work (inter-operability and coordination) among the entities involved in managing the reinsertion process. The importance of the new technologies in the effectiveness of the reinsertion process.

5. Reinsertion innovation: environment, social voluntary work, involvement in the local environment, commitment to goals. The young offender as a potential agent of progress in his/her own environment.

b) Abstract submission:

c) Full communication:

-
Length: 18.000 - 25.000 characters (6 - 8 pages aprox. -graphs and illustrations included- by using the specified typography an single line spacing.)
- Communication and abstract title (in English and Spanish) and key words.
- Author/authors' personal data: name, qualification, institution to which the author(s) belong, address, city/nation (Region or Department), postal code/country, telephone (area code and number), e-mail address. (A maximum of four authors)
- Personal data of the person in charge of the communication delivery.
- Institutional data: Institution, programme or centre name, address, city/ nation (Region o Department), postal code /country, telephone (area code and number), fax (area code and number), Web site, e-mail address.
- Detailed information about the required material for the communication delivery.

d) Format: The paper to be submitted should be written in size A4 sheet and using 12 points Arial font and single line spacing. Margins: 2.5 cm top and bottom, and 3 cm side. Notes and bibliography should be at the end of the document.

e) Deadlines:

Abstract submission: until15th October 2006
- Notification to the authors about their approved papers: via e-mail, until 20th October 2006
- Deadline for the full communication submission: until 5th November 2006

f) Paper sending: The proposed communications should be sent to the following e-mail address: simposiointernacional@meridianos.org.

g) Evaluation and selection: The papers will be evaluated by the scientific committee, which is in charge of accepting o rejecting them, as well as organising those which have been accepted according to the different task areas.
